Albert Lawrence Bee
Flt. Mech. Albert Lawrence Bee, eldest son of Mr. and Mrs. Albert E. Bee, 213 Grey St., lost his life off the west coast of Africa in a plane crash December 2, 1943. He was serving as a flight mechanic in the South African Air Force, and it was on a routine travel trip that the mishap occurred. He is now buried at Takaradi. Born in Paris, Ont., on February 13, 1917, Albert was six years of age when he came with his parents to Brantford. He attended King George School and the Brantford Collegiate Institute and Vocational School. Finding it difficult to obtain employment here, he went in 1935 to South Africa to live with his grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Albert Bee, Sr., Johannesburg. There he worked in a textile mill. In May, 1940, he enlisted with the South African Air Force. To mourn him besides his parents, is his widow in Johannesburg.
