Nathan Ripley is the pseudonym of Naben Ruthnum.

Ruthnum writes short stories and criticism. His short story, Cinema Rex, won the Writers' Trust of Canada/McClelland & Stewart Journey Prize, and the long essay Curry: Eating, Reading, and Race was published by Coach House Books in 2017. Find You In the Dark is his first thriller.

Ruthnum currently lives in the Parkdale neighbourhood of Toronto but grew up in Kelowna, BC. He spent most of his twenties in Vancouver, making frequent trips to the Pacific Northwest setting of Find You In the Dark to see concerts and, eventually, to conduct research.
