George Woodburn Willets
Pte. George Woodburn Willets lost his life on August 29, 1944, in France, two years after he had enlisted in the Canadian Army. The eldest son of Mrs. Emma Willets, R.R. 1, Paris, and born December 23, 1913, he had attended S.S. No. 7 and the St. George Continuation School and had a host of friends. He attended the United Church at Harrisburg and took part in all its activities. Enlisting with the army in August, 1942, he was trained at Niagara-on-the-Lake and Debert, and went overseas in February, 1943. He left England on D-Day taking part in the invasion of Normandy.
