NFB Film Club - Arctic Defenders (Ages: All)

The National Film Board of Canada Film Club's programming offers up a rich and varied selection of short and feature-length films. Just drop in!

We will be showing:

Arctic Defenders, 2013 (89 mins.)
Set in the dramatic and alluring landscape of the North, this film tells a remarkable story that began in 1968 with a radical Inuit movement that changed the political landscape forever. It led to the largest land claim in western civilization, orchestrated by young, visionary Inuit with a dream: the creation of Nunavut. The film reveals Canada's misguided attempts at sovereignty in the Nort and finds hope and inspiration in the stories of determined people who changed the rules of the game.

Note - The front entrance of the Main Branch on Colborne Street is closed for construction. Visitors can use the accessible entrance off of Wharfe Street.
