NFB Film Club - John McCrae’s War: In Flanders Fields and Frontlines

The National Film Board of Canada Film Club's programming offers up a rich and varied selection of short and feature-length films.

We will be showing:John McCrae's War: In Flanders Fields, 2001 and Frontlines, 2008 (Total running time: 94 mins.)
This feature documentary profiles poet John McCrae, from his childhood in Ontario to his years in medicine at McGill University and the WWI battlefields of Belgium, where he cared for wounded soldiers.

Frontlines, is a tribute to the combatants in the First World War, this film traces the conflict through the war diary and private letters of five Canadian soldiers and a nurse. Hearing them, the listener detects between the lines an unspoken horror censored by war and propriety.

Registration is required, call 519-753-2179 to register.
