Truth and Reconciliation Through Culture and the Arts Speaking Panel- A Lifelong Learning Week Event

Laurier’s Faculty of Liberal Arts Community Speaker Series Presents its Inaugural Event: 
Truth and Reconciliation Through Culture and the Arts

Event Description:
Can public art be a catalyst for healing and community discourse in the selfie generation? How does public art stimulate the process of reconciliation? How do we translate symbols and ideology across cultures?

Join us for a panel presentation and discussion with the creators and facilitators of the Brantford Library’s new mural La Landscape de Kanata, as they discuss their journey creating works of public art that provide a visual story of the evolution of our community.

Organized Kaos Workshop Tour - Lifelong Learning Week Event

Drop in anytime between 7:30 a.m. and 5 p.m. to tour the workshop of Organized Kaos
The tour includes a background of Organized Kaos and the chance to try some of their tools. 
Organized Kaos is a non-profit that provides youth with purpose by teaching them life and trade skills.

YMCA Tours - Lifelong Learning Week

Lifelong Learning Week Event:
Tour the new Laurier Brantford YMCA Building at 100 Water Street in downtown Brantford.This state-of-the-art facility has two tank pools, plus an on-deck hot tub, a double gym, a single gym, a fitness centre, fitness studios and multi-purpose spaces five changes rooms, child minding, a youth zone and a 3,500 square foot strength area.

Hours of operation are:
Monday to Thursday: 5:30am - 11pm
Friday: 5:30am - 10pm
Saturday: 7am - 9pm
Sunday: 8am - 5pm

Tai Chi Open House - A Lifelong Learning Week Event

Fung Loy Kok Taoist Tai Chi is holding an open house to let people observe and try a few Tai Chi moves. 

This event will be held at T.B. Costain/SC Johnson Community Centre at 16 Morrell Street and is part of Lifelong Learning Week.

Our week-long celebration of science and space concludes September 22 when Astronomy in Action's 25-foot inflatable planetarium will be in the Library for live 30-minute demonstrations. This will be an experience to remember for people of all ages and is part of Lifelong Learning Week
