Curriculum Kits

1. What is a Curriculum Kit?
A curriculum kit is to be used in a classroom. Kits contain a combination of 10-15 items including: books, DVD’s. Playaway views, CD’s, and flashcards to supplement elementary school lessons. Items are chosen by referencing the Ontario Curriculum for the specific grade level. 
Materials in kits are intended for in-class use only and should not be sent home with students.
2. Who can borrow Curriculum Kits?
Kits can be borrowed by anyone with an up to date Brantford Public Library card. For organizations within Brantford who wish to use the Kits, an Institution Card may be issued on behalf of the organization.

4. How can I reserve Curriculum Kits in advance?
Consult the Availability Calendars first to see when your chosen titles are available:

When you have chosen your titles and the available dates, please fill out the booking form to reserve your selection.
5. Where can I pick up/return Curriculum Kits?
Curriculum Kits will be held behind the check-out desks at the Main Library and St. Paul Avenue Branch. Please specify desired pick-up location when you reserve the Kit. Be advised we require two days notice to prepare bookings.
Kits are returned to the check-out desks at either the Main Library or St. Paul Avenue Branch.
Kits must not be put into the Book Drops.
6. How long may I keep a Curriculum Kit?
The loan period for a Curriculum Kit is 6 weeks. The return date will be set when you reserve your Kit and it must be returned by that date regardless of when you pick it up. 
Kits cannot be renewed in order to ensure that the set is available for use by other organizations.
7. What is the late charge for books in a Curriculum Kit?
The late charge is 5 cents per day per item.
8. What is the charge if one of the items is missing?
The cost varies depending on the item that has gone missing. You will be charged the purchase cost of the specific item.
