

Lifescapes: A Seniors Memoir Writing Program

Everyone's story is worth telling. Have you ever thought about writing down your life stories but didn't know where to start? The Brantford Public Library can help you put your memories on paper!
Lifescapes is a progressive guided writing program for seniors who wish to record their memories. Lifescapes meetings will take place approximately twice a month on Tuesday afternoons at 2:30 p.m. for 8 months. During the Lifescapes meetings we will:
Volunteers will be available to help with typing and scanning photos.

All of the Lifescapes member's stories will be published in an anthology at the end of the program. Join us on June 2, 2010 in the 3rd floor auditorium for the launch of the third anthology created by the participants of our Lifescapes memoir writing program. .
The first annual Lifescapes anthology, Our Recollection Collection, was launched on June 23, 2008. It is available to be checked out in the library or viewed online. This program was featured in a Brantford Expositor article.
The second annual Lifescapes anthology, Shades of the Past, was launched on June 23, 2009. It is available to be checked out in the library or viewed online.

Lifescapes was developed by Julie Machado, a Librarian with the Washoe County Library System and Stephen Tchudi, Professor of English and Rhetoric at the University of Nevada.
